ABOUT

We offer a range of programmes and workshops in a variety of sectors, including rehabilitation, education, special educational needs and disabilities, business, specific health conditions and the community. It is the mission of Vocal Connection CIC to bring joy and a deeper understanding of music to all its clients and contribute to individuals’ health and wellbeing through singing.

Vocal Connections is directed by two facilitators, Claire Fowler and Ruby Swift.

Claire Fowler has been a qualified Probation Officer since 2003, working for the National Probation Service until 2016. She has a huge amount of experience of working in a motivational manner with offenders and identifying positive rehabilitative benefits for individuals. Claire is a qualified vocal coach, with experience of leading singing sessions in both prison and Probation Service settings. She currently teaches singing in schools, leads a Singing for Parkinson's group for Parkinson's UK and also runs two successful Community Choirs.

Ruby Swift (MA) is extremely passionate about singing and singing for health, having taught music in many forms, led choirs and provided singing lessons and workshops to clients of a diverse age range for many years. Ruby delivers workshops and ongoing singing groups across the community, uniting people in song. Ruby is a Natural Voice Practitioner, a trained Singing for the Brain Leader with the Alzheimer’s Society, a trained Singing for Lung Health Leader (British Lung Foundation), has experience of leading singing sessions in both prison and Probation Service settings and is currently completing a doctorate researching music and dementia.
